This book is not about Delphi, but contains a beginner's coverage of the Object Pascal language that is part of Delphi (so the title could have been "ObjectPascal by Example" instead).
But given the scope of ObjectPascal, the book indeed contains a thorough coverage of this language; from types, records, sets and variables, statements (if-then, case, loop) subroutines and units, to event driven and an intro in object oriented programming.
The hands-on nature of the book is enforced by Review Exercises at the end of each chapter.
This book is purely for beginners who are unable to get what they need from the ObjectPascal Lanuage Guide (which is part of Delphi 2 itself).
